Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs Ferrous Processing & Trade is seeking a General Laborer at our Cleveland, OH location. The role involves processing scrap metals, loading/unloading materials, sorting to separate metals, and operating mobile equipment with PPE and safety discipline.

The position requires reading, basic math, and reliable teamwork to maintain site cleanliness, assist mechanics, and interact with customers. Must meet pre-employment screening and physical requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to read, write, and perform basic math.
• Experience operating mobile equipment preferred.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and follow oral/written instructions.
• Ability to climb ladders or steps and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Work cooperatively with others and endure dusty, challenging environments.
• Pre-employment background, physical, and hair drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to safety standards with PPE and cleanliness.
• Load and unload materials from storage, production areas, docks, or vehicles.
• Sort recycled materials by grade and type, removing non-conforming metals.
• Operate and maintain mobile equipment including forklifts, skid steers, streetsweeper, and water trucks.
• Perform tasks using tools such as torch, bander, chop saw, sawzall, and wire snips.
• Identify scrap grades and any undesirable elements in material.
• Remove fluids from incoming materials or vehicles as required.
• Perform cleaning duties related to plant equipment and general housekeeping.
• Assist mechanics with equipment maintenance.
• Interact with customers or drivers to direct or assist them.
• Perform other general laborer tasks as required.

FPT isawholly-ownedbusinessofCleveland-Cliffshasan immediate opportunity for aGeneralLaborerat ourCleveland, OHlocation.TheGeneralLaboreris responsible forthe processing of scrap metals using various tools and equipment.

Summary ofResponsibilities:

• Ensure adherence to safety standards including use of required personal protective equipment (PPE), remove hazards asidentified, andmaintaincleanliness of the site.

• Load and unload materials from storage,productionareas, docks, delivery vehicles,staging areas,or containers using mobile equipment or by hand.

• Sort a variety of recycled materials and metals to separate out high-grade metals andremovesany non-conforming metals.

• Operate&maintainmobile equipment including but not limited to forklifts, skid steers, streetsweeper, and/or water trucks.

• Perform tasks involving physical labor using tools, including but not limited to standard hand tools, torch, bander, chop saw, alligator shear, sawzall, and wire snips.

• Identifyscrapincludingthe grade and type of material and any undesirable elements within the material.

• Remove fluids from incoming materials or vehicles asrequired.

• Perform cleaning duties related to plant equipment and general housekeeping

• Assistsmechanics in the maintenance of equipment including plant equipment

• Interacts with customers or drivers to direct orassistthem

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

• Mustbe able to read, write, and perform basic math.

• Experienceoperatingmobile equipment preferred.

• Good communicationand interpersonal skills.

• Ability tomaintainaccuraterecords.

• Ability tofollow oral and written communication.

• Ability to climb ladders or steps to reach objects.
