Job summary

UFP Industries is seeking a general labor associate to safely handle lumber products and verify materials meet customer and company requirements. The role involves stacking, labeling, tagging, and securing materials, using staple guns, and assisting with various production tasks.

Responsibilities include maintaining inventory, recording production, and ensuring a clean, organized work area. The position supports safety initiatives, participates in CI programs, and may involve other duties as

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
  • No minimum experience required, manufacturing or lumber experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of basic math preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Moves and secures lumber products according to instructions.
  • Stacks finished products by predetermined bundle sizes or customer requirements.
  • Labels material by type, size and count.
  • Applies individual tags before/after treating/production.
  • Uses a staple gun and troubleshoots equipment.
  • Bans, bundles and secures material, attach corner protectors and loading sticks.
  • Follows stacking instructions per policy and customer requirements.
  • Ensures correct quantities and material are strapped and labeled before leaving work area.
  • Maintains accurate inventory of tags and reports discrepancies.
  • Records production on production sheets and keeps area organized.
  • Assists with other areas by moving material and loading/unloading carts.
  • Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Job Summary

Principle Duties and Responsibilities
  • Moves and secures lumber products and other materials according to instructions
  • Stacks finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements
  • Labels material based on the following specifications: type, size, and count
  • Applies individual tags to material before/after treating/production
  • Uses a staple gun and troubleshoots equipment
  • Bands, bundles and secures material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticks
  • Follows instructions for stacking material properly and according to company policy and customer requirements
  • Ensures correct quantities and material are strapped, and labeled before leaving the work area
  • Maintains accurate inventory of tags and reports any problems or discrepancies to supervisor
  • Records production on production sheets
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area
  • Assists with other work areas by moving material, loading and unloading material carts
  • Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings
  • Performs other duties as required
Qualifications

High school diploma/GED preferred but not required No minimum experience is required, but manufacturing or lumber experience is preferred Working knowledge of basic math preferred Must be at least 18 years of age

Hourly/Salary Pay Range: $18.00 - $19.00 hour) dependent on experience* *pay range may be adjusted depending on cost of living

Bonus/Incentive Pay (only include one from the list below based on the job): 1. For hourly positions with incentive pay: Incentive pay may be available for certain job roles and may include piece rate incentives, weekly production bonuses, trip rates, and employee referral bonuses. A discretionary annual bonus based on Company and business unit performance may also be provided.
