Job summary

UFP Industries is seeking a general labor associate to safely handle lumber products, verify materials meet customer requirements, and contribute to production processes in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include stacking, labeling, tagging, and securing materials, maintaining inventory, and supporting other areas as needed. A high school diploma is preferred; no formal experience required beyond basic math skills.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED preferred but not required.
  • Working knowledge of basic math preferred.

  • Stacks finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements.
  • Labels material based on type, size, and count.
  • Applies individual tags to material before/after treating/production.
  • Uses a staple gun and troubleshoots equipment.
  • Binds, bundles and secures material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticks.
  • Follows stacking instructions per policy and customer requirements.
  • Maintains inventory accuracy of tags and reports discrepancies to supervisor.
  • Records production on production sheets.
  • Keeps a clean and organized work area.
  • Assists with other areas by moving material and loading/unloading carts.
  • Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.

Job Summary

Principle Duties and Responsibilities
  • Moves and secures lumber products and other materials according to instructions
  • Stacks finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements
  • Labels material based on the following specifications: type, size, and count
  • Applies individual tags to material before/after treating/production
  • Uses a staple gun and troubleshoots equipment
  • Bands, bundles and secures material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticks
  • Follows instructions for stacking material properly and according to company policy and customer requirements
  • Ensures correct quantities and material are strapped, and labeled before leaving the work area
  • Maintains accurate inventory of tags and reports any problems or discrepancies to supervisor
  • Records production on production sheets
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area
  • Assists with other work areas by moving material, loading and unloading material carts
  • Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings
  • Performs other duties as required
Qualifications
  • High school diploma/GED preferred but not required
  • No minimum experience is required, but manufacturing or lumber experience is preferred
  • Working knowledge of basic math preferred
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
Hours

12:45pm - 11:15pm Monday - Thursday

Hourly/Salary Pay Range

\$21/hour + \$2/hour shift differential *pay range may be adjusted depending on cost of living

Bonus/Incentive Pay

For hourly positions with incentive pay: Incentive pay may be available for certain job roles and may include piece rate incentives, weekly production bonuses, and trip rate bonuses. A discretionary annual bonus based on Company and business unit performance may also be provided.
