Actalentservices is seeking a dedicated General Lab Supervisor to manage the Cancer Center Laboratory, located in Brooklyn, NY. The supervisor will be responsible for a team of skilled professionals performing testing and quality assurance tasks within the laboratory.

This role requires a NYS Clinical Technologist license and experience in chemistry and hematology, preferably in a leadership capacity. The position offers a competitive salary of $130,000 to $140,000 per year, plus comprehensive health benefits starting a month after hire.

Shifts are strictly daytime from Monday to Friday, ensuring work-life balance without night or weekend hours.

Qualifications

HIRING: General Lab Supervisor

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated General Lab Supervisor to oversee the Cancer Center Laboratory. This role involves supervising a team of skilled professionals in performing testing and quality assurance activities within the chemistry and hematology program.

Responsibilities

• Oversee 4 full-time employees performing testing and quality assurance activities for the chemistry and hematology program.
• Perform day-to-day supervision of the general lab operations, including troubleshooting, revising and updating policies, and scheduling.
• Ensure technical skill in point of care testing and clinical laboratory functions.
• No bench work is required unless there is an emergency, but the candidate should be able to read slides.

Essential Skills

• NYS Clinical Technologist license.
• Bachelor's degree with 4 years of experience in a clinical laboratory or a Master's degree with 2 years of experience.
• Experience in chemistry and hematology.
• At least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role is preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience as a medical technologist or supervisor.
• Desire to pursue leadership opportunities in a clinical lab setting.

Work Environment

This position offers a competitive salary and a leadership opportunity in the clinical lab without the need for night or weekend shifts. The role is strictly a daytime position, operating Monday to Friday, with shifts from 8 AM to 4 PM or 9 AM to 5 PM.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $140000.00/yr.

Health Benefits are effective one month from your date of hire if you are scheduled to work at least 16 hours per week. To ensure coverage, it is required that you make your benefits selections within the 30 days following your date of hire. If your selections are not made on-line within the 30-day period, the Medical Center will assign benefits (default) coverage.
