Irving Independent School District is seeking a flexible Paraprofessional to assist in the office and classroom settings as directed by the principal. The position follows a 187-day work year under the Paraprofessional 030 pay scale.
Qualifications include Educational Aide I Paraprofessional Certificate and a High School Diploma or GED, with the ability to work well with children and use basic computer applications. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.
This is a grant funded position. Funds for this position are expected to be available up to the end of the school year. In addition to other specified conditions of employment, the applicant understands that no guarantee of continued employment, beyond the availability of the grant funds, is expressed or implied by Irving Independent School District.
Provide flexibility in meeting campus needs by assisting in the office and/or in the classrooms as determined by the principal.
Education/Certification:
Special Knowledge/Skills
Experience working with children/students or parents
Copier, multi-line telephone, facsimile, audiovisual equipment, and computer/peripherals
Maintain emotional control under stress
Work with frequent interruptions
Frequent requests to complete work in restrictive timeframes
May inlcude a lot of Standing, stooping, bending
May be required to lift up to 30 pounds without assistance
Contribute to the prevention of accidents and injuries by observing safety rules and District policy, practicing the principles and skills taught in safety training, wearing personal protective equipment as required, reporting injuries and incidences immediately to supervisor, and being proactive in the ongoing efforts to improve and maintain workplace safety.
