SOLV Energy, via its SDI Services affiliate, seeks a General Foreman to supervise foremen, journeymen and crews on construction sites in Kirtland, NM. You will interpret drawings, plan work, monitor quality, safety and costs, and coordinate field activities to keep projects on schedule.

The role requires 7–10 years in construction with supervisory experience, ability to read plans, OSHA/union knowledge, and urgency. Compensation ranges from $90,000 to $117,000 per year, with benefits included.

Qualifications

SOLV Energy is a leading provider of infrastructure services to the power industry, designing, building and maintaining utility scale solar, battery storage and high voltage substation projects nationwide. This position is part of SDI Services, an affiliate of SOLV Energy, and will be managed from the jobsite in Kirtland, NM.

Job Overview

The General Foreman will supervise and coordinate activities of foremen, journeymen, construction trades workers and their helpers, ensuring successful project completion on SDI Service construction projects.

Position Responsibilities and Duties

• Supervise foremen, journeymen and various crews on the construction site
• Provide drawing interpretation
• Conduct regular inspections of the work to check for inconsistencies and deviations from company‑established quality standards
• Plan and schedule work and keep records of the materials used and the progress made on a job
• Order supplies and equipment
• Report on personnel, costs, and safety
• Direct the use of machines and materials being used
• Ensure the project is constructed to code and according to plans and specifications
• Examine and inspect work progress and equipment
• Coordinate work in a timely and efficient manner in a safe environment
• Identify, address and resolve issues and problems as or before they occur
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with field personnel and subcontractors
• Analyze and plan installation and construction of equipment and structures
• Discuss blueprints and plans with contractors
• Assist with resolution of union grievances
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements

• 7–10 years of experience with construction, concrete and/or masonry work and crew/job management
• High school or vocational school graduation with experience as a journeyman carpenter, including supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
• Working knowledge of all crafts and ability to read and understand specifications for all trades
• Understanding of project floor plans, fixture drawings, construction drawings, electrical plans, lighting plans, and construction codes and local/state ordinances
• Familiarity with office equipment, including computer, calculator, radio, and fax
• Knowledge of OSHA laws and union contracts and procedures
• Knowledge of job scheduling, planning, expediting and cost control
• Strong problem‑solving ability and a strong sense of urgency
