Job summary

Ingalls Shipbuilding, a division of HII, is seeking a supervisor to lead semi-skilled and skilled trades across multiple shifts in our Pascagoula facility. You will supervise, assign, coordinate and evaluate personnel based on skill and experience, and train workers to improve quality and productivity.

The role includes translating broad strategies into actionable plans, ensuring compliance with drawings and procedures, and overseeing manufacturing, installation, testing and process operations

Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED with 6 years of craft experience, including at least 2 years in production supervisory roles.
  • An Apprentice Graduate/AA Degree with 2 years of craft experience and at least 2 years in production supervisory roles.

  • Supervises, assigns, coordinates and evaluates semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel according to skill, experience and job knowledge.
  • Trains employees to improve quality and quantity of work; assists in development of training procedures.
  • Breaks broad strategies down to practical action plans and ensures employees are trained to perform these plans.
  • Complies with all drawings, procedures, and other technical requirements; oversees manufacturing, installation, operation and testing with significant financial impact.
  • Monitors job and budget performance for all shifts and reviews charter policies before applying for position.

The Role

Supervises, assigns, coordinates and evaluates semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel according to their skill, experience and job knowledge. Supervises and trains employees to improve quality and quantity of work performed. Recommends training to enhance skill and productivity of employees, and assists in development of training procedures. Breaks broad strategies down to practical action plans and ensures employees are trained to perform these plans. Responsible for complying with all technical aspects of the job including adherence to all drawings, procedures, etc. Responsible for manufacturing, installation, operation, testing, and process operations that have a significant financial impact on the company's performance. Supervises qualified trades staff; monitoring job and budget performance for all shifts.

Additional common management responsibilities as listed in Shipbuilding Management Charter 0001 within command media (SBMC 0001) and applicants should review the Charter and policies and procedures before applying for position.

Must Have
  • HS Diploma/GED and 6 years of craft experience, with at least 2 years in production supervisory experience.
  • Apprentice Graduate/AA Degree and 2 years of craft experience, with at least 2 years of production supervisory experience.

Must be willing and able to work any shift assigned.
