Position: General Foreman / Electrical Superintendent

We are seeking a talented candidate to join our Lewiston, Maine office. The primary responsibilities include coordinating all project field activities safely, supervising craft personnel effectively, and ensuring work quality, safety, and efficiency according to project schedules, budgets, and specifications. The role requires occasional travel and relocation.

The candidate will collaborate with Safety, Preplanning, Foremen, and field labor teams, reporting directly to the Project Manager.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Support company policies, procedures, and strategic planning initiatives.
2. Promote and oversee training initiatives for the field workforce.
3. Assist with estimating and business development as needed.
4. Develop and implement Project Specific Safety Plans in coordination with the safety department, ensuring adherence to safety policies and incident minimization.
5. Review project plans, specifications, schedules, and budgets; clarify and address potential misunderstandings.
6. Participate in project turnover and contribute to project scheduling and updates.
7. Determine work sequencing and methods with the Preplanning Team and Foremen.
8. Hire, supervise, and terminate field personnel; maintain workforce planning documents.
9. Coordinate labor allocation with project management based on experience levels.
10. Manage labor efficiency, rates, and manloading; report inefficiencies and corrective actions monthly.
11. Prepare and submit daily and project-related reports.
12. Set labor hour objectives and provide guidance to Foremen and field labor.
13. Assist in managing materials and equipment, including rental equipment, material management, prefab planning, and logistics.
14. Contribute to shop drawings and markups based on field activities.
15. Ensure quality work and promptly address work issues or changes.
16. Maintain effective communication with project personnel and protect company interests.
17. Implement “Best Practices” to optimize cost and schedule efficiencies.
18. Manage union relations and address labor issues proactively.
19. Maintain positive relationships with project and company personnel.
20. Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

• Current Maine State Journeyman or Master Electrician license.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 6 years of electrical project construction experience.
• Leadership skills, interpersonal skills, and site management experience.
• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail, organization, and deadline management.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated loyalty and commitment.

Preferred additional skills include experience with scheduling software (Microsoft Project, Primavera), Vista Viewpoint, Accubid, Bluebeam, and document control programs.
