H2ajobs in Louisiana is seeking general farm workers to perform crop and crawfish tasks, including rice field prep, planting and harvesting, water maintenance, tractor operation, weed control, and loading/unloading rice trucks. Workers must be able to drive to multiple farm locations and help maintain rice bins.

Crawfish duties include baiting, traps, operating crawfish boats, weighing and tagging crawfish, loading trucks, repairing traps, and stocking ponds.

General farm work includes: Crop/Crawfish field prep, water maintenance, planting and harvesting of rice and driving tractors; fertilize, spot spray weeds; spraying to maintain vegetation, assist with loading and unloading of rice trucks; must be able to drive vehicles to various farm locations; maintain rice bins including clean up of rice spills, sweeping rice spills/bins. Crawfishing involves manually cutting up of fish bait, bait traps, operate crawfish boat, checking of traps; frequent stooping and lifting traps, load and unload trucks, wash and grade crawfish; repair traps; put out and pick up crawfish traps in ponds; stock crawfish ponds; weigh and tag crawfish. Help repair and maintain farm equipment, shop, fields, levees, farm roads & fences; Performance bonuses associated with performing the job duties may be earned.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: Employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities so worker may prepare their own meals. Employer will provide (on a voluntary basis) transportation to assure workers have access to stores where they can purchase groceries.

Transport: Transportation & related daily subsistence will be provided by the employer or paid by the employer to the worker for reasonable costs incurred for inbound & outbound travel. Employer will provide or pay for charter bus services or other modes of transportation to groups of H-2A or U.S. workers, or permit workers to select any means of transportation they choose & reimburse workers at no less than the most economical & reasonable common carrier transportation charges for the distances involved.
