Job description

General farm work includes: help repair and maintain farm equipment, shop, fields, levees, farm roads and fences; field preparation, water maintenance, planting and harvesting of rice; driving tractor, equipment and trucks; fertilize, spot spray weeds; assist with loading and unloading of rice trucks; must be able to drive vehicles to various farm locations; operate and maintain rice bins including cleaning up of rice spills, sweeping rice spills/pins, leveling bins. Crawfishing involves manually cutting up of fish bait, bait traps, operate crawfish boat, checking of traps--traps are removed from the pond, crawfish are emptied into sacks, traps are re-baited and put back in to pond, repair crawfish traps as needed, weigh and tag crawfish, load crawfish in truck to deliver to markets; frequent stooping and lifting traps, load and unload trucks, wash and grade crawfish.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: Employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities so worker may prepare their own meals. Employer will provide (on a voluntary basis) transportation to assure workers have access to stores where they can purchase groceries.

Transport: Transportation, and related daily subsistence will be provided by the employer or paid by the employer to the worker for reasonable costs incurred for inbound and outbound travel. Employer will provide or pay for charter bus services or other modes of transportation

to H-2A or U.S. workers, or permit workers to select any means of transportation they choose and reimburse workers at no less than the most economical and reasonable common carrier transportation charges for the distances involved.
