Job summary

RAYUS Radiology is seeking a General Extender to join the team as a fully remote, full-time role. You will augment physicians, assist in creating and editing Radiology reports for accuracy and compliance with AHA/ACR guidelines, and ensure timely distribution to clients across multiple modalities.

Qualified candidates have an Associate's in health science or related field, plus 1 year of medical transcription/editor experience and solid knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.

• One year experience as Medical Transcriptionist or Medical Editor.
• One year experience with daily use of medical terminology and demonstrated knowledge of human anatomy.

Responsibilities

• Augment a physician's ability to provide medical interpretation services and assist in creating Radiology reports.
• Transcribe radiographic dictations into reports and ensure accuracy per AHA/ACR guidelines.
• Place radiographic findings into reports for all modalities and manage radiology worklists.
• Coordinate with radiologists to ensure timely turnaround of all orders and reports.

RAYUS Radiology is looking for a General Extender to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together! As a General Extender, you will be responsible for responsible for augmenting a physician's ability to provide medical interpretation services to patients; assist in the creation of all Radiology reports, editing reports for accuracy and compliance with the American Health Association (AHA) and American College of Radiology (ACR) Guidelines. This is a Full-time position fully remote position, working 40 hours per week, variable shifts (mainly midday during the week and weekends).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Augment a physician's ability to provide medical interpretation services to patients; assist in the creation of Radiology Final Reports, editing reports for accuracy and compliance with AHA and ACR Guidelines.
• Work directly with radiologists to place radiographic findings into appropriate reports for all modalities of radiology. Requires strong knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology.
• Transcribe radiographic dictations into radiographic reports. Prepare completed reports for distribution to clients.
• Manage the work list of patient orders and distribute orders to appropriate radiologists and/or sub-specialty worklist.
• Work closely with other General Extenders to achieve the common goal of having all orders read by radiologists within the required turn-around time.

Requirements

Required:

• Associate's degree in health science, or related field, or the equivalent in applicable work experience.
• One (1) year experience as a Medical Transcriptionist or Medical Editor

• Bachelor's degree in healthcare, or related field
• Two (2) years' experience working in Diagnostic Technology, or other related anatomy/medically focused area
