Job summary

RAYUS Radiology is seeking a General Extender to augment a physician's ability to provide radiology interpretation services. You will assist in creating radiology final reports and edit for accuracy and compliance.

The role is part-time, fully remote, 24 hours per week with variable shifts, mainly middays during the week and weekends. You will transcribe dictations and ensure reports are ready for distribution to clients.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent experience in health science or related field.
• One year experience as a Medical Transcriptionist or Medical Editor.
• One year experience using medical terminology and anatomy knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Augment physician ability to provide medical interpretation and assist in creating Radiology Final Reports.
• Edit reports for accuracy and compliance with AHA/ACR guidelines.
• Transcribe radiographic dictations into reports and prepare for client distribution.
• Manage work lists and distribute orders to radiologists.

RAYUS Radiology is looking for a General Extender to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together! As a General Extender, you will be responsible for augmenting a physician's ability to provide medical interpretation services to patients; assist in the creation of all Radiology reports, editing reports for accuracy and compliance with the American Health Association (AHA) and American College of Radiology (ACR) Guidelines.

This is a part‑time position fully remote, working 24 hours per week, variable shifts (mainly midday during the week and weekends).

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Augment a physician's ability to provide medical interpretation services to patients; assist in the creation of Radiology Final Reports, editing reports for accuracy and compliance with AHA and ACR Guidelines.
• Work directly with radiologists to place radiographic findings into appropriate reports for all modalities of radiology. Requires strong knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology.
• Transcribe radiographic dictations into radiographic reports. Prepare completed reports for distribution to clients.
• Manage the work list of patient orders and distribute orders to appropriate radiologists and/or sub‑specialty worklist.
• Work closely with other General Extenders to achieve the common goal of having all orders read by radiologists within the required turn‑around time.

Required

• Associate's degree in health science, or related field, or the equivalent in applicable work experience.
• One (1) year experience as a Medical Transcriptionist or Medical Editor.
• One (1) year work experience which required daily use of medical terminology and demonstrated knowledge of human anatomy.

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in healthcare, or related field.
• Two (2) years' experience working in Diagnostic Technology, or other related anatomy/medically focused area.
