Job summary

The National Cemetery Administration in Philadelphia seeks a General Project Engineer to lead NAD construction and environmental programs, coordinating with engineers, district directors, and central office staff.

You will oversee complex design projects, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide engineering analyses and plans. The role requires broad knowledge of environmental/general engineering within the NAD and strong cross‑agency collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for NAD Non-Recurring Maintenance (NRM) and Maintenance and Repair (M&R) construction programs.
• Oversee designated major/minor construction projects and the NAD Environmental Management Program.
• Provide engineering analyses, development, design and preparation of complete plans and specifications for NAD projects.
• Coordinate with Project Engineers, Resident Engineers, National Cemetery Administration Central Office PMs, Medical Center Directors, Cemetery Directors and NAD staff.
• Ensure compliance with local, county, state, and Federal building, safety, fire and environmental codes.
• Review discrepancy reports and perform environmental assessments of cemetery sites; coordinate with state regulators as needed.
