Job summary

Palms Casino Resort is seeking a General Engineer who will work closely with the Assistant Chief Engineer to maintain and repair fire alarm systems, kitchen equipment, walk-ins, boilers, water heaters, pumps, and plumbing. The role requires thorough familiarity with operation and maintenance tasks and accurate data recording.

Responsibilities include preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems; troubleshooting; responding to emergencies such as fires

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have a valid Nevada driver’s license.
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests, team members, and management.
• Must be able to work evening, weekend and holiday shifts.
• Three (3) years of experience in a commercial or industrial setting preferred.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in Refrigeration required.
• EPA certified.

Job description

Working closely with the Assistant Chief Engineer, the General Engineer will play an important role by becoming thoroughly familiar with all phases of operation and maintenance necessary to operate the fire alarm system and repair all kitchen equipment, walk-in coolers, walk-in freezers, boilers, water heaters, pumps, and plumbing. Performs all repairs, maintenance, and replacement of parts for preventative maintenance schedule and accurately records all pertinent data. Install new equipment and systems as directed. Maintain the facility through preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and other related systems.

• Must be able to read, comprehend, and apply technical material, schematics, and blueprints.
• Basic knowledge of Health Department, ADA, and OSHA codes and regulations.
• Must be EPA certified.

Physical Demands:

• Work is performed in both indoor (including coolers and freezers) and outdoor settings.
• Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination, and air quality.
• May be exposed to smoke.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
• Constant contact with executives, department management, team members, and guests.
• Prolonged sitting or standing and mobility.
• Balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motions Lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Eye/hand coordination.
• Use of standard office equipment.
• Ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.
