Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a Georgia PSC-approved accredited college/university.
• Valid PSC-approved teaching certificate in the appropriate educational field.
• Special Education certification with relevant endorsements.
• Endorsements in ESOL and Gifted as required by the district.
• CTAE specializations as applicable.
• Must pass the GACE Education Ethics Assessment.
• Minimum two years of verifiable industrial work experience.
• Industry licensure as required by the assignment.

Responsabilités

• Teaches grade-relevant, subject matter-specific, and mandated curriculum.
• Develops and implements lesson plans for in-person and virtual learning with evidence of preparation.
• Communicates with district personnel, students, and parents by phone, email, or video.
• Creates an in-person and virtual classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Uses internet and web-based technology to provide instruction and collaboration.
• Assesses and reports achievement progress, grades, and attendance.
• Manages student behavior per the Student Code of Conduct.
• Participates in conferences with parents, students, counselors, teachers, and administrators.
• Performs general instruction duties and attends trainings.
• Directs paraprofessional or instructional aide as needed.
• Maintains prompt and regular work attendance.
• Identifies educational needs and provides instruction to students with varying exceptionalities.
• Instructs students based on IEPs; assesses and communicates progress.
• Serves as case manager for students with disabilities; maintains paperwork and schedules; facilitates IEP meetings.
• Follows Georgia professional educator ethics.
• Meets needs of students with severe disabilities (lifting, positioning, feeding, toileting).
• Provides SDI aligned to state standards and accommodations.
• Develops standards-based lessons with SDI and accommodations.
• Differentiates instruction to address academic, behavioral, and functional needs.
• Develops and revises IEPs in compliance with regulations.
• Implements IEP services and ensures accommodations.
• Collects data to monitor progress toward IEP goals.
• Provides progress reports to parents.
• Collaborates with general education teachers.
• Develops and implements Behavior Intervention Plans.
• Creates a structured and supportive learning environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
