Job summary

Pima Medical Institute Houston Campus is seeking an experienced educator for a temporary, part-time role. You will deliver foundational science and medical courses to students pursuing healthcare careers.

Responsibilities include planning, evaluating lessons, tracking attendance, and maintaining grades. A Bachelor's in Education with teaching credentials is required; adult education experience is a plus. This on-site position offers meaningful student impact.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with education in the specific courses taught.
Secondary education teaching credentials and teaching experience or adult education experience preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Implement and evaluate daily lesson plans including scheduled activities and sequence materials.
Plan instruction to achieve specific objectives based on student needs and established curriculum.
Monitor student attendance and coordinate with the program leadership when absences occur two days in a row.
Enter attendance daily and maintain accurate records.
Review student success rates and implement plans to reduce withdrawals; target 80% success rate.
Monitor student academic progress and notify leadership when grades drop.
Maintain student grades and prepare final grades to update transcripts.
Evaluate student performance and adjust provisions to meet learning needs.
Monitor students in the classroom; ensure safety precautions are followed.
