Job description

Job Summary: Geisinger is proud to offer General Diagnostic Radiology Technologist Regional Float positions with a $15,000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates! This position also offers a $6/hr. premium on top of the base pay rate. This position is located out of Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center and will float to other locations in this region. Assignments will be made with consideration of driving distance from home location. Responsible for performing a variety of standardized radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations, equipment operation, and maintaining related records.

Job Duties
  1. Performs standardized radiological and fluoroscopic examinations utilizing proper patient positioning, identification, and exposure techniques.
  2. Knowledgeable in operation of all equipment within the modality.
  3. Sets up and adjusts immobilization and radiation protective equipment and devices.
  4. Reviews and analyzes patient body size, thickness, age, physical condition, and suspected pathology in performing examinations.
  5. Assists physicians with various procedures.
  6. Reports equipment malfunctions and the need for adjustments or repairs.
  7. Maintains related records and notations.
  8. Assists in Quality Assurance/Quality Control procedures as required.
  9. Participates in the educational training of students.
  10. Primary schedule involves floating between hospitals within a regional location to fill scheduling gaps due to time off and staffing shortages, including nights and weekends.

Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. The role requires satisfying all job-specific obligations and complying with organization policies and procedures. Position Details

The primary schedule involves floating between hospital and outpatient locations within a region to cover staffing gaps due to time off, FMLA, shortages, or other needs as determined by radiology leadership. Coverage may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, or any combination.

Education & Experience
  • Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology (Required)
  • Certified Radiology Technologist within 24 months - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
