Job Description

Elaine Ellis Center of Health, a federally qualified healthcare center in DC, is looking for a full-time general dentist to join our growing dental team. We have offices in DC and College Park, MD. A qualified candidate will have a valid and current license and DEA for both DC and Maryland. We offer a competitive salary, 15 days of PTO accrued annually, medical, vision, dental, and life insurance, as well as a 401K program and loan repayment through the HRSA Job Corps.

Specific job duties:
  1. Adhere to approved practice standards and protocols from the DC Board of Dentistry and Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners.
  2. Perform functions in the diagnosis of oral diseases and the promotion of oral health and disease prevention.
  3. Create treatment plans to maintain or restore the oral health of patients.
  4. Interpret x-rays and diagnostic tests.
  5. Ensure the safe administration of anesthetics.
  6. Monitor growth and development of the teeth and jaws.
  7. Perform surgical procedures on the teeth, bone, and soft tissues of the oral cavity.
  8. Provide patient education on dental hygiene and oral care topics.
  9. Maintain patient appearance and ability to masticate.
  10. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  11. Record and maintain patient information accurately and timely.
  12. Communicate with and treat patients via telehealth.
  13. Provide on-call and after-hours coverage.
  14. Provide education to patients and community members.
  15. Refer patients to other providers and specialists as appropriate.
  16. Consult with and provide services to other providers.
  17. Participate in provider meetings and other center meetings as needed.
  18. Adhere to the UDS productivity standards.
  19. Participate in outreach and offsite programs as assigned.
  20. Attend and participate in staff conferences.
  21. Continuously update education, techniques, and methodologies; apply new knowledge.
  22. Perform other duties and assist with special projects as assigned.
