Overview
- Full Time General Dentist in Oviedo, FL
- 5 days per week, Monday-Friday
- 8:00am-5:00pm
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and provide appropriate dental treatment to patients.
- Educate patients on maintaining proper oral health.
- Prescribe medications as necessary.
- Carefully document all medications, diagnoses, treatment and consultations.
- Create a welcome and trusting environment for patients.
- Perform intra-oral exam. Perform soft-tissue exam.
- Perform Oral cancer screening.
- Chart existing conditions and restorations.
- Diagnose periodontal disease. Diagnose dental decay.
- Refer to dental specialties when indicated.
- Provide restorative treatment.
- Formulate appropriate treatment plan. Explain treatment plan to patient. Provide treatment options.
- Educate patients on oral health.
- Document rationale of treatment rendered.
- Communicate with the Dental Hygienist regarding specific treatment.
- Communicate with the office manager and dental staff. Attend and participate in morning huddle.
- Write prescriptions for antibiotics and other medications and administer anesthetics.
- Document clinical notes clearly, precisely, and supportive of the Board of Dentistry Standards in patient charts making note of next visit.
- Document and sign medical histories.
- Stay current with dental industry initiatives and technology.
- Maintain biannual CE requirements.
- Completely fill out lab prescriptions with patient name, material, tooth number, license number, signature and instructions.
- Maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
- Comply with ADA, State and Organizational Standards of Care.
- Comply with generally accepted standards of medical necessity.
- Comply with generally accepted standards of billing documentation.
- Comply with all OSHA and HIPPA requirements.
- Supervise other clinical and non-clinical staff as needed in performing treatment.
Qualifications
- DMD, DDS or BDS Degree
- Active Florida State Dental License
- Four (4) years of experience as a General Dentist
