Dentist - PRN
STGi is currently seeking a Dentist to provide medical consultation and case review evaluations on Worker’s Compensation cases. The position is open to candidates nationwide and is fully remote.
Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide medical consultation and case review evaluations on Workers' Compensation cases, primarily for the Department of Labor (DOL) on Federal Employee Compensation Act cases.
- Complete training on DFEC policy, procedures, and regulations prior to performing case reviews.
- Perform medical consultation in accordance with FOH's policy and standard operating procedures.
- Support the medical and consultative needs for the DOL and other federal agencies' workers' compensation programs.
- Evaluate workers' compensation case files, interpret medical reports, and provide guidance to customer agencies regarding medical issues.
- Conduct various types of DOL FECA case reviews, including routine and complex medical/surgical reviews, impairment ratings, death claims, and expedited reviews.
- Demonstrate technical expertise in performing medical consultations and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Possess knowledge of federal safety, health, and workers' compensation regulations.
- May conduct hands-on examinations if privileged and required.
- Submit monthly billing as per format and deadlines.
- Receive program direction from the FOH Medical Director.
- Ensure compliance with DFEC program requirements regarding access to confidential medical data.
Required Skills:
- Active medical practice with at least 240 hours of direct patient care annually in the relevant specialty.
- Expert understanding of Federal safety and health regulations and experience reviewing worker's compensation cases.
- Experience working with organizations of varying sizes and backgrounds.
- Possibly FAA flight surgeon or MROCC certification depending on the position.
- Current BLS certification if conducting direct patient evaluations.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
- Excellent communication skills.
Required Experience:
- Licensed MD or DO with specialty board certification recognized by ABMS or the American Osteopathic Association.
- Valid state license to practice medicine without disciplinary actions.
- Minimum of two years of clinical experience in the relevant specialty, with prior experience as a federal medical consultant preferred.
