Job Description

A client based in Cortland, New York, is seeking an experienced and collaborative Dentist to provide dental care for patients of all ages. The ideal candidate values equitable and evidence-based care, possesses strong organizational and collaborative skills, and will assist in supervising dental assistants and hygienists.

Required Qualifications

• Active New York Dental License
• Active DEA certification
• Dental Degree (D.D.S. or D.M.D.) from an accredited dental school
• 1-2 years of experience

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive dental care to patients.
• Coordinate dental service activities with medical and other services to address mutual problems.
• Plan, direct, and review the work of dental staff at the assigned center.
• Participate in local dental society programs to promote dental health.
• Assist in inventory control, ordering supplies and equipment in collaboration with the site lead.
• Collect data and prepare reports as required.
• Maintain dental equipment directly and through contracted services, in cooperation with the site lead.
• Participate in interviewing and hiring dental staff.
• Support the Site Lead with supervisory responsibilities for dental employees.
• Assist in scheduling work hours for receptionists, dental hygienists, and dental assistants.
• Assist in annual performance evaluations of receptionists, dental hygienists, and dental assistants, and submit written reports.
• Ensure compliance with the health center's standards, policies, and procedures, and report any suspected noncompliance.
• Maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
