A General Cleaner performs various janitorial and custodial duties related to the appearance and cleanliness of the interior and exterior of the facility or building.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Maintain floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing surfaces.
2. Clean, disinfect, deodorize, and maintain restrooms, replacing supplies as needed.
3. Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, using appropriate chemicals and solutions.
4. Wash windows, walls, partitions, vents, grills, and pipes.
5. Move furniture, boxes, or obstacles as required for cleaning tasks.
6. Remove trash and debris to designated pickup points.
7. Dust, wax, and polish office furniture; clean shelves and empty waste baskets.
8. Organize and maintain stock of janitorial supplies.
9. Clean industrial machines, tools, mirrors, and fans.
10. Perform light outdoor work such as litter pickup.
11. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. 2-3 years of industrial cleaning experience.
2. Previous forklift experience preferred.
3. Valid driver’s license required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Stand and walk for at least 8 hours daily, including on stairs.
• Stoop, kneel, and bend repeatedly.
• Work in tight spaces if needed.
• Vision requirements include close, distance, and peripheral vision.

Work Environment

• Exposure to moving mechanical parts and moderate to loud noise levels.
• Use of cleaning chemicals and solvents.
• Work may occur in non-climate-controlled environments and at heights or confined spaces.
