Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. (PCC) is seeking a Level One assembly operator in a manufacturing environment near New York. You will perform basic mechanical and electrical assembly tasks, verify kits and components, and follow routers and work documents while using hand tools and simple inspection gauges.

Overtime may be required to meet production needs. Qualified candidates have 0-1 year of experience, good hand-eye coordination, and strong mechanical aptitude.

Position Summary

Level One: Working under direct supervision level one general assembly operators complete basic assembly tasks supporting either assembly lines or focus factories by following routers and work documents, verifying kits, components and correct tooling relating to minor mechanical, electrical and component assembly. This requires using basic assembly items such as templates, files, drills, clamps, jigs, presses, saws, rivet guns, epoxies, fasteners and other related equipment. They will also be introduced to basic hand-held inspection tools such calipers, micrometers, and gauges, and will be required to perform basic in process inspection tasks such as dimensional, visual and functional fit, demonstrating basic shop math skills, and the ability to use basic hand tools. Typically 0-1 Years of Experience

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
  • Assembles parts to form complete units or subassemblies.
  • Works to meet all production requirements and quotas.
  • Produces quality subassemblies or units.
  • Uses hand tools and small power tools in an efficient manner.
  • Prepares workstation appropriately and when assignment is complete leaves the workstation in acceptable condition.
  • Meets expectations after initial training.
  • Works within specified production time frame, including mandatory overtime.
  • Maintains a good knowledge of all manufacturing operations and processes within the department.
  • Performs job as instructed, must not deviate or change the process.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Skills
  • Electronic assembly experience with a production quota in place.
  • Experience working with automated equipment.
  • Experience working with production requirements and quotas.
  • Have good hand/eye coordination and mechanical skills.
Experience & Education
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $18.00 to $18.25 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter . Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.

This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
