Job summary

Bayer Crop Science is seeking a motivated co‑op to support the development and optimization of gene expression workflows in Missouri. You will work with molecular biologists and genomics scientists to evaluate protocols, perform RNA extraction and downstream analyses, and help scale operations.

The role offers hands‑on experience with molecular biology techniques, transcriptomics technologies, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Master’s or Ph.D. in a relevant field.
• Experience with molecular biology techniques (nucleic acid extraction, PCR, gel electrophoresis, quality assessment).
• Interest in transcriptomics and genomics technologies.

Responsibilities

• Perform RNA extraction and nucleic acid sample preparation from diverse samples.
• Design experimental controls and automate assays.
• Conduct experiments to compare and improve sample processing methods.
• Assist with preparing samples for downstream transcriptomic analyses including sequencing-based applications.
• Maintain accurate lab records and analyze results.
• Collaborate with molecular biology, genomics, and bioinformatics teams.
• Present findings and recommendations to research teams.
