Job summary

Mayer Brown in New York or Chicago is seeking an AI and Technology Risk Management Lawyer to advise on risk, professional responsibility, and regulatory challenges associated with GenAI, automation, data platforms, and legal tech systems.

The role involves working closely with partners, IT, Innovation, Knowledge Management, Information Security, and clients to ensure the firm uses technology in a responsible and compliant manner.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer with strong post-qualification experience, ideally gained in a leading law firm or in-house legal/risk function.
• IAPP AIGP desirable.

Responsibilities

• Advise on legal and regulatory risks associated with AI, GenAI, and other technologies within the firm and client engagements.
• Assess professional conduct risks connected with technology and AI.
• Provide guidance on the responsible use of AI and other technologies for users.
• Support onboarding of new technology and AI tools.
• Collaborate with AI Governance Manager on reviews of emerging tech use cases.
