Job summary

Visa is hiring an entry-level software engineer to help build AI-driven applications on the Corporate Generative AI team. You’ll contribute to features that leverage LLMs to automate tasks, retrieve information, and guide users through complex processes.

You’ll work under guidance from senior engineers, participate in code reviews, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software. This role emphasizes learning and practical, impactful development across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, OR 3+ years of relevant work experience.
• BS/MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with modern front-end development: HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript; React preferred.
• Back-end concepts and at least one server-side language (Python/Java/C#/Node/TypeScript).
• Relational/NoSQL databases and basic querying.
• Experience building, consuming, testing, or documenting REST APIs.
• Awareness of cloud platforms like Azure/AWS/Google Cloud.
• Proficiency in clean, readable code and Git workflows.
• Intro to CI/CD and development workflows.
• Familiarity with GenAI tools and language model APIs.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, debug, and maintain full-stack features across front-end, back-end, API, and data layers.
• Write clean, readable code following team standards and modern practices.
• Use LLMs and AI coding tools to support development, debugging, and documentation.
• Apply CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, OOP.
• Participate in code reviews and improve code quality.
• Support deployments, monitoring, and troubleshooting in Azure or similar cloud environments.
• Follow CI/CD, testing, and agile work tracking practices.
• Collaborate with teammates and stakeholders to clarify requirements and progress.
