Job summary

Kalman & Company, Inc. in Stafford, VA is seeking a highly motivated AI/ML professional to support DoD programs. You will lead analytic studies, develop GenAI-powered agents, and deliver data-driven insights for military and civilian leadership.

This role requires US citizenship, active clearance, and 5+ years in data science with 2+ years in DoD AI efforts. Collaboration with engineers, analysts, and program managers is essential to success and mission impact.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with data science/analytics and 2+ years of experience supporting AI efforts within DoW
• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, CS or related field
• Excellent data gathering and analytical skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Experience with GenAI (Gemini, ChatGPT, etc.)
• Demonstrated hands-on experience building and deploying LLM-based applications
• Ability to integrate GenAI systems with government secure networks and legacy systems

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of analytical products that support the acquisition and sustainment of priority DoW capabilities
• Architect, build, and deploy GenAI-powered agents to support cost estimating, CARD development, acquisition analysis, and OR tasks
• Develop multi-agent and tool-using AI systems using government-cleared technologies
• Integrate AI agents with DoW data sources, legacy systems, APIs, models, and workflows
• Engineer secure, auditable AI pipelines meeting DoW governance requirements
• Develop AI-assisted tools that automate CARD preparation, cost model creation, and OR study documentation
• Test, evaluate, and validate AI outputs for accuracy and mission alignment
• Create scalable data pipelines for LLM ingestion and semantic search
• Provide AI/ML expertise to program managers and DoW stakeholders
• Produce clear briefings and training materials on agent behavior and risks
