Job summary

Cactus Communications is seeking accomplished physician-researchers to serve as Subject Matter Experts in Generative AI for medical research. The SME will support GenAI products to advance evidence generation, translation, and dissemination, acting as a bridge among clinicians, data scientists, UX designers, and product managers.

Ideal candidates are active physicians with hands-on experience in clinical research, RCTs, and systematic reviews, with a strong publication record.

Qualifications

• MD degree with specialization in Anesthesiology, board certification, and a US clinical license.
• PhD / MPH / MS in Clinical Research, Biomedical Informatics, or Epidemiology desirable.
• Peer-reviewed publications as first or senior author in high-impact journals.
• Hands-on experience with randomized controlled trials, systematic reviews, or meta-analyses.
• PI experience desirable.
• Familiarity with PubMed, Embase, ClinicalTrials.gov, Cochrane Library, and data extraction tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance in study design for systematic reviews, RCTs, and various reviews.
• Evaluate GenAI outputs for scientific accuracy and adherence to CONSORT, PRISMA, and GRADE.
• Integrate clinical and biomedical data sources into AI-enabled tools for literature workups.
• Collaborate with product managers, GenAI data scientists, UX designers, and developers to translate workflows into AI-assisted research capabilities.
• Define evaluation metrics for GenAI agent accuracy, bias and reliability in research settings.
• Provide clinical review throughout GenAI model selection, tuning, testing, and refinement.
• Serve as a clinical thought leader to inform agentic product development.
• Assist teams in interpreting clinical data, methodologies, and publication standards.
• Represent the organization in selected customer engagements.
