Job summary

Amazon Inc. in Sunnyvale, CA is building Generative AI capabilities with Large Language Models (LLMs) as part of the Foundational AI (FAI) team.

As a researcher/software engineer you will support the RL Gyms on the FAI team, assess their usefulness for frontier model advancement, and develop techniques to push the state of the art with LLMs while contributing to foundational model development.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience.
• 1+ years designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software applications using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Support development of RL Gyms on the FAI team.
• Assess RL Gyms for usefulness in frontier model advancement.
• Develop techniques to advance the state of the art with LLMs.
• Contribute to foundational model development in an applied research capacity.
• Leverage Amazon’s heterogeneous data sources and large-scale computing resources to accelerate LLM progress.
• Deliver work that impacts customers through products and services using GenAI technology.
