Job summary

Nationwide is seeking GenAI Interns to join the Enterprise Analytics Office (EAO) in Columbus, Ohio for May to August 2027. You will work on applying LLMs, AI agents, and agentic workflows to drive innovation across the insurance value chain.

Graduate candidates will be considered; familiarity with NLP, deep learning, vector databases, and cloud-based ML workflows is preferred. Nationwide pays within a geographic salary structure, with an hourly range of $23-$50 for internships.

Qualifications

• Experience with LLMs, AI agents, and agentic systems.
• Experience with NLP, deep learning, and generative modeling techniques
• Familiarity with vector databases and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines
• Experience with cloud platforms and MLOps best practices
• Proficiency in Python and ML libraries (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Transformers, Scikit-learn)
• Experience with containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes) and CI/CD for ML pipelines is a major plus

Responsibilities

• As an GenAI Intern, you will focus on applying large language models (LLMs), AI agents, and agentic workflows to drive innovation and operational efficiency across the insurance value chain.
• EAO Data Scientists support all Nationwide products by developing integrated end-to-end solutions with rigorous statistical inference and robust model validation.
• You’ll be part of a highly collaborative team, developing technical and nontechnical skills beneficial to your professional growth.
