Job summary

American Family Insurance in Spark Madison, WI is seeking interns to support data-driven projects, ML model development, and IT initiatives. The role emphasizes building ML applications, data preparation, and collaboration across teams in a hybrid setting.

The program targets students pursuing bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degrees who have completed at least 24 semester hours and are enrolled full-time.

Qualifications

• Experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service.
• Must be enrolled full-time in a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral program.
• Must have completed 24 semester hours before first work term.
• Preferred fields include Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Science, AI or related technical fields.
• Preferred experience in application support, software development, data analytics, ML, IT support, systems administration, or related tech.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills preferred.

Hourly Rate Range - $25 -$30

Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements

• Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service.
• Must be currently seeking a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree and be enrolled in an accredited college or university on a full-time basis or as required by the university's co-op program.
• Must have achieved 24 semester hours of academic credit before beginning the first work term.
• Preferred degree programs include Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related technical fields.
• Preferred experience includes coursework, academic projects, internships, research, or hands-on work involving application support, software development, data analytics, machine learning, IT support, systems administration, or related technology functions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills preferred.

Additional Information

• To ensure a strong start, all employees participate in our New Employee Orientation during their first week. This experience is held in person at our Madison, WI Headquarters or one of our AmFam core locations to help you connect with our mission, meet key team members and build relationships that support your growth. At times, sessions may be delivered virtually based on scheduling and availability.

Hybrid position based in Spark Madison, WI. Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the Madison office and be able to report onsite a minimum of 10days a month.
