Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior software engineer to design and build GenAI-powered developer tooling, including prompts, IDE integrations, and telemetry. You will help power the GenAI developer platform with tools, services, and integrations leveraging LiteLLM for local and background agents, with robust auth and routing.

You will own guardrails and observability for agentic workflows, integrate with Datadog, Jira, GitHub, and internal platforms, and collaborate across Product Engineering to fit

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 2+ years of experience improving developer experience through workflows, documentation, and platform capabilities.
• Golang programming experience.
• Hands-on experience with GenAI tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code).

Responsibilities

• Design and build GenAI-powered developer tooling: prompts, IDE integrations, Cursor/Claude rules, and telemetry.
• Build and run the GenAI developer platform: Tools, services, and integrations leveraging LiteLLM to power agents with auth, configuration, and LLM routing.
• Own guardrails and observability for agentic workflows with Datadog, DX, FinOut; ensure safe auditing with Jira, GitHub, and internal platforms.
• Collaborate with engineers and managers across Product Engineering to fit how teams currently build software.
• Support our mission and values, including journalistic independence, and keep ethics and safety central to AI usage in workflows.
• Limited on-call responsibilities; schedule set on join; demonstrate commitment to our mission.
