Job summary

Brooksource's AI and data practice is hiring a GenAI Developer to support federal programs. You will join a fast-paced team delivering production-ready AI-enabled web applications for agencies like FAA, HUD, and USDA, with hybrid work in the DMV area.

Responsibilities include full lifecycle development, integrating AI models, building front-end and back-end components, APIs, and cloud deployments (AWS/Azure), while adhering to security and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree listed as a requirement.
• Active Security Clearance (Public Trust, Secret, TS/SCI, etc.).
• 3–5 years of professional software or application development experience.
• Experience across the full software development lifecycle (build, test, deploy, support).
• Hands-on front‑end development with JavaScript/TypeScript and React/Next.js.
• Backend development with Python and frameworks such as FastAPI or Node.js.
• Experience integrating generative AI or large language models into apps.
• Experience developing and integrating APIs within web-based apps.
• Experience deploying or supporting apps in AWS, Azure, or other clouds.

Location: DMV Area (Washington, DC, Maryland, Virginia)

Hybrid Role - 1-2 days/wk

Compensation: $65 - $75/hr (Depending on skillset, experience, and clearance)

About The Role

Join a dynamic and rapidly growing AI and data practice supporting high-impact programs across the federal government. As a GenAI Developer, you will work alongside established technical and consulting teams supporting agencies such as the FAA, HUD, and USDA, with opportunities to contribute across multiple federal programs as needed. This is a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment focused on taking emerging AI capabilities beyond experimentation and into scalable, production-ready solutions that support real government missions and end users. You will gain exposure to modern AI and application development, working on technology that directly impacts federal initiatives.

What You'll Do

• Develop and enhance AI-enabled web applications supporting federal government programs
• Contribute across the full software development lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment, and production support
• Integrate generative AI models and capabilities into scalable, user-facing applications
• Build and support both front-end and back-end components within modern application environments
• Develop and integrate APIs connecting applications, AI models, and supporting services
• Collaborate with developers, AI/ML engineers, product teams, and other technical stakeholders to deliver production-ready solutions

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree
• Active Security Clearance (Public Trust, Secret, TS/SCI, etc.)
• 3 to 5 years of professional software or application development experience
• Experience across the full software development lifecycle (build, test, deploy, support)
• Hands-on front-end development with JavaScript or TypeScript and frameworks like React or Next.js
