Job summary

Highmark Health offers a Summer 2027 Applied Gen AI/Data Scientist Graduate Internship focused on Generative AI applications in healthcare. Interns work within the AI Services and Platforms Research & Development Team to design, prototype, and evaluate GenAI solutions for member engagement, clinical workflows, and enterprise productivity.

The program covers the full lifecycle of applied AI, including prompt engineering, RAG, AI Agents, and experimentation, with collaboration across AI

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree completed or in progress in a related field.
Pursuit of a graduate degree (full or part-time) in an accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

Communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders to plan assignments and resolve day-to-day issues.
Under supervision, provide professional services aligned with day-to-day operating objectives and receive mentorship.
Undertake and participate in projects to develop professional skills and expertise.
Participate in planning and implementation of unit projects within area of expertise and ability.
Conduct research and provide recommendations or alternative proposals for action.
Undertake related studies or enrichment programs aligned with objectives of the operating unit.
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
