Job summary

Highmark Health's Summer 2027 Applied Gen AI/Data Scientist Graduate Internship offers graduate students hands-on experience in GenAI, LLMs, AI Agents, and related technologies to tackle healthcare challenges and improve member and clinician experiences.

As a member of AI Services and Platforms R&D, you will work with researchers, data scientists, ML engineers, and software developers to design, prototype, and evaluate AI solutions across healthcare operations and enterprise workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Pursuit of a graduate degree (full or part-time) in an accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

• Develop GenAI-powered applications and prototypes.
• Evaluate and optimize LLM outputs and AI models.
• Collaborate with engineering and analytics teams on healthcare-focused AI use cases.
• Document findings and present recommendations to technical and business audiences.
