Job summary

Netflix Creations, LLC is seeking a Character Designer to join our team, crafting character look, personality, and poses for animated content using GenAI-native production pipelines alongside traditional tools.

You will work with creative leads to explore design options, develop turnarounds, and ensure consistency across shots, while collaborating with production on schedules and feedback loops in an inclusive, artist-led environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of character design experience for production settings.
• Excellent draftsmanship with solid anatomy/volumetric drawing.
• Advanced proficiency with digital drawing tools.
• Broad knowledge of artistic styles and latest technology.
• Familiarity with AI tools and AI-assisted workflows.
• Samples or credits showing excellence in character design.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in agile, iterative creative environments.
• Interest in AI-assisted character development.

Responsibilities

• Align with the show’s style and sensibility.
• Explore and create character designs fitting the story/world.
• Translate references into personality, mood, and tone.
• Collaborate with technical leads to refine models and ensure consistency.
• Develop character expressions, turnarounds, and production assets.
• Present work clearly and respond to notes.
• Meet production schedules and deliver on time.
• Provide proactive feedback on tools and workflows.
• Translate creative notes into actionable production items.
