Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking an Applied Scientist for the Foundational AI team to advance GenAI with LLMs. You will build RL Gyms, assess their usefulness for frontier model development, and push state-of-the-art techniques in large language models.

You’ll collaborate with engineers and researchers, analyze training results, and contribute to papers while mentoring juniors and driving model integration into products and services.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of ML model development for business applications.
• PhD or Master’s with 6+ years of applied research.
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.
• Experience with neural deep learning methods and ML.

Responsibilities

• Develop RL Gym environments and techniques to advance LLMs.
• Support foundational model development in applied research.
• Collaborate with engineers to integrate algorithms into systems.
• Draft research papers and present findings to peers.
