Job summary

Synergy Business Consulting, Inc. seeks a hands-on AI Engineer to join a new AI Security team, shaping enterprise AI security practices from the ground up.

You'll develop security controls, automation, and evaluation frameworks for GenAI and agentic applications in a security-conscious environment. The role blends AI engineering, software development, and cybersecurity, with responsibilities spanning CI/CD integration, tool development, and red-teaming support to safeguard AI agents and data

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, AI, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in software engineering, AI/ML, cybersecurity, or related discipline.
• Strong hands-on Python development and scripting experience.
• Experience with Generative AI, LLMs, or AI agents.
• Understanding of agentic architectures, LLM orchestration, and AI app development.
• Knowledge of prompt engineering and prompt-security concepts.
• Understanding of threats like prompt injection and tool misuse.
• Experience with CI/CD, APIs, version control, testing, and automation.
• Working knowledge of application/API security and data protection.
• Familiarity with IAM, OAuth, or least-privilege concepts is desirable.
• Familiarity with OWASP Top 10 for LLM Apps and/or NIST AI RMF is a plus.
• Strong communication skills for non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain security controls and guardrails for GenAI and agentic applications.
• Develop Python-based scripts, programs, and automation to operationalize AI security controls.
• Evaluate and improve prompts, agent behavior, and tool interactions.
• Identify and mitigate prompt injection, jailbreaks, and AI tool misuse.
• Build automated evaluation frameworks and regression testing for AI agents and LLM apps.
• Integrate AI security controls into CI/CD pipelines and engineering workflows.
• Develop reusable libraries, SDKs, templates, and secure AI development patterns.
• Support AI red-teaming and translate findings into engineering improvements.
• Enforce identity, access, and data-protection controls at prompt and tool-invocation layers.
• Define secure prompting and agentic development best practices; drive adoption across teams.
• Research and evaluate emerging AI security technologies and tools.
• Partner with engineering, security, and business stakeholders to communicate AI security risks and recommendations.
