Job summary

Arnot Health is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technologist II in the Gen Lab to perform defined lab procedures with independence and under minimal supervision. The CLT II works on human specimens to aid diagnosis and treatment, reporting to the Supervisor of Gen Lab.

Qualified candidates will have a NYSDOE CLT license or license application in process, and a bachelor’s degree in a related field with relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory technology (or medical technology) from a NYSDOE-registered program or substantial equivalent.
• Must have a NYSDOE Clinical Laboratory Technology license or have documentation that an application for a license has been submitted.
• Meets all requirements of federal and state regulations for a Clinical Laboratory Technologist with good organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintains areas of responsibility in accordance with standards established by external licensing, accreditation, regulatory and auditing entities.
• Adheres to laboratory policies and procedures during all phases testing including specimen handling, analyses, quality control, calibrations and maintenance.
• Attends annual mandatory educational programs and complies with Occupational Medicine policies.
• Documents a minimum of 12 hours of continuing education annually.
• Maintains competency for all laboratory testing performed in assigned areas.
• Maintains courteous and helpful rapport with patients, physicians, nurses, and staff and upholds Arnot Health policies.
