Amazon Ads seeks a senior leader to build and steer a high‑performing applied science team focused on generative AI for Sponsored Brands experiences. You will recruit and mentor scientists, drive AI solution development, and push research into production across campaigns and insights.

Strong leadership and hands‑on ML expertise are essential. You will guide the design of AI systems, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product teams to deliver scalable, impactful advertising innovations at AWS

Qualifications

• 4+ years of applied research experience in AI/ML.
• 3+ years of management experience for scientists or ML engineers.
• 3+ years building ML models for business use cases.
• PhD or Master's with 6+ years of applied research experience.
• Knowledge of ML, NLP, information retrieval and analytics.
• Proficient in Java, C++, Python or related languages.
• Strong curiosity about Gen AI and related tech.

Responsibilities

• Hire and develop a team of applied scientists for Gen AI solutions.
• Lead generation and optimization of ad campaigns with AI.
• Build recommendation systems using generative models.
• Mentor scientists and guide technical direction.
• Research latest Gen AI/ML techniques and best practices.
• Apply analytics to create scalable business solutions.
• Establish structures enabling complex problem solving and delivery.
