Job summary

Google DeepMind is seeking a Research Scientist to advance Gemini Horizon with rigorous experiments and scalable deployments. You will design and run large-scale tests, prototype architectures, and help translate research into practical AI products and infrastructure improvements.

Applicants should have 2+ years in applied ML, strong Python/C++ coding, and hands-on experience with JAX or PyTorch. You will collaborate across interdisciplinary teams and contribute to a global research community.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with ML algorithms and tools, or applied ML (LLMs, generative AI, NLP, recommendations).
• 2+ years of experience with Generative AI, AI algorithms, and system design.
• 2+ years of industry experience in applied ML/research.
• 2+ years of experience developing ML infrastructure, distributed systems, or networks.

Responsibilities

• Deliver research that informs Gemini Horizon, setting up large-scale tests and deploying ideas quickly and broadly.
• Publish findings and contribute to internal and external research communities.
• Work on real-world problems spanning ML, data mining, NLP, and system performance analysis.
• Collaborate with teams to advance models, memory management, and task execution within Gemini.
