Job summary

DeepMind Technologies Limited is seeking a Research Scientist to design and run large-scale experiments, prototype architectures, and deploy promising ideas across domains in AI.

You will lead a team of research scientists and ML engineers, manage deadlines, and apply state-of-the-art theories to build new products, evaluate performance, and contribute to the Gemini model training effort with rigorous benchmarks.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Applied Statistics, ML or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience in applied NLP research and productionization, including advanced prompting and LLM fine-tuning or RL.
• 4 years of experience leading technical or research teams and mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of research scientists and ML engineers.
• Provide direction while prioritizing workloads and enabling rapid iteration on research initiatives.
• Oversee development of benchmark datasets and rigorous evaluation suites measuring factual accuracy and multi-step reasoning.
• Partner with engineering, product management, and legal domain experts to deploy research advances to early enterprise partners.
