Job summary

Vonore, TN is seeking a Gel Coater at Brunswick to apply gelcoat to boat molds and components, ensuring a high-quality finish. You will prepare surfaces, mix and catalyze gelcoat, and spray coatings while following safety and quality procedures in a marine manufacturing setting.

The role collaborates with lamination and finishing teams, requires standing for long periods and overtime as production dictates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to measure, mix, and apply gelcoat per work instructions.
• Ability to operate spray equipment and finishing tools used in gelcoat/fiberglass manufacturing.
• Read and follow work instructions, production schedules and safety procedures.
• Visually inspect gelcoated surfaces and identify defects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare molds and surfaces for gelcoat application by cleaning, masking, inspecting and verifying readiness.
• Measure, mix and catalyze gelcoat materials per specifications and conditions.
• Apply gelcoat evenly to molds, hulls, decks and components using spray equipment.
• Monitor application and curing to prevent defects like runs or orange peel.
• Perform inspections and touch-ups to ensure cosmetic quality; maintain equipment and area.
