Job summary

Boater’s World Manufacturing Group is seeking a Gelcoat Technician to join our boat manufacturing team in Chocowinity, North Carolina. This role focuses on preparing molds, mixing materials, and applying gelcoat with safety and quality in a fast-paced production setting.

You will operate and maintain professional spray equipment, ensure proper gelcoat coverage, and collaborate with lamination and other teams to meet daily production goals.

Qualifications

• Experience with gelcoat, fiberglass/composite or spray-finishing preferred.
• Ability to follow established mixing and application procedures.
• Able to work safely with gelcoat and related materials.
• Physical production work throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

• Prepare molds and surfaces for gelcoat application.
• Mix and apply gelcoat according to production specifications.
• Operate and maintain professional spray equipment.
• Maintain proper coverage, thickness, color, and finish quality.
• Inspect surfaces and identify application defects.
• Clean and maintain spray guns and related equipment.
• Follow all safety, PPE, chemical-handling, and production procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Work with Lamination and other production teams to meet production goals.

Boater’s World Manufacturing Group is seeking a Gelcoat Technician to join our boat manufacturing team in Chocowinity, North Carolina.

The Gelcoat Technician is responsible for preparing molds, mixing materials, and applying gelcoat during the fiberglass boat manufacturing process. This position requires attention to detail, safe handling of materials, and the ability to maintain consistent quality in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare molds and surfaces for gelcoat application
• Mix and apply gelcoat according to production specifications
• Operate and maintain professional spray equipment
• Maintain proper coverage, thickness, color, and finish quality
• Inspect surfaces and identify application defects
• Clean and maintain spray guns and related equipment
• Follow all safety, PPE, chemical-handling, and production procedures

Requirements

• Previous gelcoat, fiberglass/composite, industrial spray-finishing, or similar experience preferred
• Experience using professional spray equipment preferred
• Strong attention to detail and quality
• Ability to follow established mixing and application procedures
• Ability to work safely with gelcoat, catalysts, solvents, and related materials
• Ability to perform physical production work throughout the shift
• Dependable attendance and ability to work effectively as part of a team

Compensation & Benefits
