Job summary

Sportsman Boats in Summerville, SC is seeking an experienced Gelcoat Operator to apply gel coat to molds per specifications and the production schedule. This full-time role runs Monday to Thursday, 3:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.

You will ensure color, finish, and thickness meet quality standards while maintaining a safe work environment. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of gel coating experience on open molds, proficiency with hand tools, a gel coat gun, and a chopper.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of gel coating experience on open molds.
• Proficient with hand tools, gel coat gun, and chopper.
• Ability to handle hazardous chemicals and pass respirator fit test.
• Reliable transportation and good attendance are essential.
• Willingness to train others and follow production schedule.

Responsibilities

• Perform gel coating of hulls, deck molds, and small parts according to production orders.
• Clean, maintain, and test gel coating equipment to ensure it operates as required.
• Maintain a clean and environmentally safe work area.
• Ensure high quality of all work done.
• Possess the desire and ambition to work safely at all times.
• Initiate and recommend process improvements.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
