Job summary

American YouthWorks is seeking an Integrated GED and Vocational Certification Support Instructor at our Lockhart, TX site. The role delivers GED prep, digital literacy, and workforce readiness to YouthBuild participants, connecting academics to workplace skills and certifications.

You will monitor progress, provide individualized support, and collaborate with career pathway staff to align instruction with credential opportunities and regional workforce needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Adult Education, Workforce Development, Career and Technical Education, Business, Communications, or a related field.
• At least two years of instructional experience in adult education or workforce development.
• Experience teaching youth or young adults, including individuals who may face barriers to academic achievement, credential attainment, or employment.
• Experience providing GED, adult basic education, workforce-readiness, digital-literacy, or career and technical education instruction is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver GED preparation and foundational academic instruction.
• Integrate workplace applications and digital learning into instructional activities.
• Monitor participant progress and provide individualized coaching and support.
• Maintain accurate instructional records and documentation for reporting and compliance.
• Collaborate with Career Pathways and vocational staff to align activities with career goals and certifications.
• Develop applied learning activities and portfolios to support credential attainment.
