Geauga Transit in Ohio is seeking a Safety-Sensitive Maintenance Worker to perform interior and exterior cleaning of transit vehicles and facilities, light maintenance, and equipment inspection. The role requires a high school diploma, 1+ year custodial experience, and a valid Ohio driver’s license.

Expect a 40-hour week with an afternoon/evening shift and competitive hourly pay. Benefits include medical, dental, and retirement plans.

The Service Worker's primary duties include interior and exterior cleaning of transit vehicles; interior cleaning of transit facilities; light maintenance; inspecting and maintaining equipment; and exterior grounds upkeep.

Requirements

• Participation in Geauga Transit's random drug and alcohol testing is a condition of hire and a requirement of employment.


• This position is classified as safety sensitive and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing throughout the course of employment.


• High school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of janitorial or custodial maintenance experience required.


• Ability to work indoors and outdoors.


• Use of PPE to work safely around electricity, power tools, machinery, cleaning fluids, and paints.


• Use of methods, materials and tools related to cleaning and maintaining vehicles and facilities.


• Procedures for safely fueling vehicles.


• Minimum 21 years of age with clear driving record; valid Ohio driver's license.


• Must be organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, able to work independently and able to see projects through to completion in a timely manner while working unsupervised.


• Must pass DOT physical upon hire and throughout course of employment.


• Must be able to lift 60 pounds.

Starting Pay is 21.63 per hour. $24.86 is the post-probationary rate.
