Job summary

Rolls-Royce in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technical Specialist for Machining to lead all technical aspects of the gear and shaft external supply chain, ensuring quality, cost and delivery targets are met and processes are ready for industrialization.

You will direct cross‑functional teams, work with design engineering to ensure producibility, conduct supplier readiness and risk assessments, and travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

• Associate degree with 7+ years in Operations/Manufacturing/Quality/Purchasing.
• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years in Operations/Manufacturing/Quality/Purchasing.
• Master’s degree with 3+ years in Operations/Manufacturing/Quality/Purchasing.
• PhD.
• 9+ years of Operations/Manufacturing/Quality or Purchasing experience in lieu of a degree.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional team with manufacturing emphasis to meet program objectives and deliver products on time, cost, quality, and responsiveness.
• Provide gear and shaft manufacturing input to design engineering to ensure producibility and design-for-manufacture readiness.
• Lead and represent manufacturing perspective on sourcing strategy.
• Develop and conduct supplier manufacturing readiness and technical risk assessments.
• Provide support to supplier with quality requirements (fixed process, FAIR, PPAP, SABRe).
• Perform supplier hardware delivery source inspections.
• Create an environment for continuous improvement with emphasis on sharing best practices.
