Qualifications

• Read and understand repair manuals, specifications, and technical drawings.
• Analyze problems, recommend solutions, and initiate repairs.
• Must have good customer service-minded attitude, work well in a team or independently.
• Capable of reading blueprints and/or schematic diagrams.
• 3+ years of gearbox/mechanical maintenance experience.
• High attention to detail and excellent follow-up skills.
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements including hazards and equipment.
• Computer skills: time tracking, email, company software.
• Ability to follow written, oral or diagrammed instructions.
• Ability to handle problems with several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance, repairs and corrective maintenance on industrial gearboxes.
• Inspects gearboxes, identifies problems, troubleshoots and implements repairs.
• Performs tests to ensure equipment operates regularly.
• Works with micrometers, calipers, feeler gauges, bearings, shafts and gears in dismantling and repair.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by following procedures and regulations.
• Contributes to team effort by achieving related results as needed.
• Cross training in other areas may be provided at the company’s discretion.
