Edinburg CISD is seeking an academic tutor to assist teachers by providing individual or small-group instruction in English, Math, Science, or Reading, with the goal of supporting academic success and a positive learning environment.

This part-time position offers after-school and Saturday tutoring during the school year, up to 20 hours per week, paid bi-weekly at $10 per hour. Applicants must be currently enrolled in a university with an exemplary GPA and strong interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

  • Strong tutoring skills in core subjects.
  • Ability to support College Readiness skills.
  • Good interpersonal communication and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with teachers to provide academic support to JEHS students.
  • Provide tutoring in English, Math, Science, or Reading.
  • Assist with after-school and Saturday tutorials during the regular school year.
  • Attend scheduled meetings and training sessions.

LENGTH OF WORK YEAR: Part-time PAY GRADE: N/A

WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Non-Exempt SALARY RANGE: Bi-Weekly, $10 per hr. as part‑time employees; not to exceed 20 hrs. per week

PRIMARY PURPOSE

The academic tutor will assist the teacher in providing individual and/or small group instructionin the classroom and perform tasks as needed to ensure academic success, efficient classroom management, and a positive learning environment.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Current University enrollment/Exemplary GPA
  • Accelerated knowledge and skills in tutoring subject area
  • College Readiness Skills
  • Interpersonal relationship skills

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
  • Collaborate with assigned teacher(s) to provide academic support to JEHS students
  • Provide tutorial services in the areas of English, Math, Science, or Reading
  • Assist with after school and Saturday tutorials during the regular school year asassigned
  • Attend scheduled meetings and training sessions
